Empowerment Charity has been commissioned funding through Spring North’s Community Mental Health Transformation project, on behalf of the Lancashire and South Cumbria ICB, to deliver two projects on the Fylde Coast.
Our first project is supported via Solace and will look to develop our peer support and advocacy model. We will do this through:
- Recruiting peer mentors with lived experience
- Delivering tailored peer support
- Remaining trauma informed and building relationships
- Providing support for up to 12 months, tracking progress and community inclusion
Our expected outcomes are:
- Local people having better access and engagement with mental health service provision
- Local people successfully accessing engagement with key health and social care provision
- Improved mental health as a direct result of engaging with specialist mental health provision
- Reduced social isolation due to participating in community based activities.
- Local people developing self-confidence and hope for the future.
Our second project is supported by Healthwatch Blackpool and will focus on involving and supporting local organisations and VCFSE representatives to be actively involved in Community Mental Health Transformation. We will do this through:
- Community Engagement
- Collaborative Partnerships
- Independent Sector Expertise
- Partnership Engagement
Our expected outcomes are:
- Enhanced community understanding and collaboration
- Improved service provision and responsiveness
- Strengthened partnerships between VCFSE organisations and public sector stakeholders.
- Greater involvement of individuals with lived experiences in shaping service delivery.
- Implementation of effective signposting and referral pathways, ensuring seamless access to support services.
