Blackpool Teaching Hospitals is calling on local children to design a poster showing why they love the NHS and mark the 75th birthday of the service’s founding in July.
The competition is open to all children aged up to 14 living in Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre.
Trish Armstrong-Child, Chief Executive of Blackpool Hospital Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, said: “Children and young people are the future users and the workforce of tomorrow’s NHS, so I can’t wait to see in pictures what our youngsters love about their local health services and the people who work in them.”
Prizes of family tickets including Blackpool Tower circus, Sea Life, Madame Tussauds and Peter Rabbit Explore and Play have been kindly donated as prizes by our friends at Merlin Entertainments. There will also be Bobby Bear hampers from our Blue Skies Hospital Fund.
The winning artwork will be displayed at Blackpool Victoria Hospital. All the other entries will be distributed as a NHS75 gift to patients going home from our older people’s wards or older people using our community services.
How to enter
- There are two age categories:
- Under eight years of age
- Age eight to 14 years old
- Your painting or drawing should be on a single side of A4 or A3 paper or card
- We should receive your entry no later than 5pm on Monday 15 May 2023. You must include your full name and age on the back together with an email address and/or phone number where we can contact your parents or carers
- Address your entry to: NHS75 art competition, Communications Team, Home 15, Blackpool Victoria Hospital, Whinney Heys Road, Blackpool FY3 8NR
You can either post using Royal Mail or drop your entry off in person at one of the following Trust sites, Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm:
- Blue Skies Hospital Fund office in the reception area of Blackpool Victoria Hospital
- St Annes Primary Care Centre, Durham Ave, St Annes (Community reception desk)
- Whitegate Drive Health centre, Whitegate drive, Blackpool (2nd floor, Blenheim Child Development Centre Reception)
- Moor Park Health Centre, Bristol Ave, Bispham (Community reception desk)
