Worried about cancer symptoms or need advice?
If you’re concerned about possible signs or symptoms of cancer, it’s important to get checked as soon as possible. Here’s what you can do:
Speak to your GP as soon as you can.
Call NHS 111 for advice and guidance.
Visit your local walk-in centre if necessary.

Blackpool FC Community Trust (BFCCT), in partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support, is proud to offer Cancer Prehabilitation (Prehab) sessions. These sessions are designed to support individuals diagnosed with cancer, helping them to prepare physically, mentally, and emotionally for treatment and beyond.
Delivered in a supportive and community-focused environment, these sessions focus on three core areas:
- Physical Activity and Exercise: Tailored exercises to build strength and endurance.
- Nutrition Guidance: Advice on maintaining a healthy weight and diet specific to your needs.
- Psychological Support: Practical tools to reduce stress and improve mental wellbeing.

The Living Well Service reaches into many of our hospice services, helping patients to achieve personal goals after they’ve been diagnosed with a life-limiting illness. Any adult with a life-limiting illness can be referred to the Living Well Service at Trinity.
Patients must be referred by a health care professional; this could be their Consultant, GP, District Nurse or social worker.

The Linden Centre provides counselling and support to adults, children and young people living in Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre who have, or are caring for, someone with a non-curative or life-limiting illness, which is not responding to medical treatment. Also those who are bereaved due to a non-curative or life-limiting illness.

Blackpool Carers Centre hold a range of support groups and drop-ins for all age groups at Beaverbrooks House, including dementia, cancer and mental health.

The KCA Support Group was formed to help anyone coping with cancer. KCA offer support to everyone in the local area as well as children if they have family members with cancer.

Social prescribing is a service provided on behalf of your GP practice. It helps you connect with your local groups and activities within the community to improve your self-esteem, confidence, wellbeing and can help you make new friends. Social prescribers cover Blackpool Fylde and Wyre.
